TOKYO: The Tokyo Olympics will start on July 23 one year from now, coordinators said on Monday, after the coronavirus constrained the memorable choice to defer the Games until 2021. 

"The Olympics will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021. The Paralympics will be held from August 24 to September 5," Tokyo 2020 boss Yoshiro Mori told correspondents at a quickly organized news conference.Only hours sooner, Mori had said he anticipated a choice from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) over the span of the week.
